12/2/11 AMWeatherBrief: More Heavy Rain Coming
FLOOD WARNING for Butler, Muhlenberg, Ohio, and Warren Counties for areas near the Green River.
NOWCAST:
A mainly clear sky this morning with temperatures once again in the 20s. Any areas of fog may freeze on surfaces causing black ice. Please drive with caution.
NICE START TO DECEMBER:
The new month began on a fine note Thursday with lots of sun and temps getting back into the 50s. It will be just as nice today with winds remaining light. It looks to be a good night for high school football championship games (including the one pitting Glasgow against Holy Cross) at Houchens-LT Smith Stadium.
PARADE WEEKEND:
The weather looks hard to beat for the Hometown Christmas Parades! Expect more sunshine along with some high clouds Saturday, with a south wind warming us all the way into the lower 60s. Clouds will increase Saturday night, with rain showers moving in Sunday morning as another potent storm system arrives from out of the Plains states. Heavy rainfall along with river flooding is possible Sunday into Monday (to the tune of 1-3″ over the two day span) before colder air arrives late Monday into Tuesday. Any remaining moisture could switch over to a little light snow Tuesday, but it does not look significant at this time. It looks quiet but chilly midweek.
