Midday radar tells the story…rain is headed back this way.
An area of low pressure – currently over Texas – will be moving northeast this evening into the Tennessee Valley bringing us a good chance of rain tonight and through the day Tuesday. Rain chances are at 100% both tonight and Tuesday.
Right now, it appears we should begin to see raindrops in Southern Kentucky sometime after 7pm this evening.
While we will see mostly rain across the area Tuesday, there will be a brief period when colder air is drawn in as the low pressure systems moves across Kentucky. During that time, some of the rain may mix with…or change to a wet snow. However, temperature profiles near ground level indicate it still may be too warm for any accumulation. There could be some slushy accumulation of snow on grassy areas and on some less-traveled roadways by Wednesday morning.
