NOWCAST:
Scattered showers and thunderstorms continue to fire over the region this morning along with breezy south winds 15-25 mph. A few storms may contain intense lightning and hail.

FEBRUARY ENDS STORMY:
It looks to be a day we’ll all need to pay close attention to changing weather conditions as a potent Spring storm system moves across the area. Breezy southwest winds along with abundant moisture have set the stage for active thunderstorms today. We will see scattered showers and thunderstorms this morning – a few which may reach severe limits with the potential for damaging winds and large hail.

We are likely to see a renewed round of storms out ahead of a potent cold front in the early this afternoon. These storms will have better potential for turning severe with locally damaging winds the main threat along with hail and a few isolated tornadoes possible. The storms will end by this evening. As cooler, drier air works in this evening, the rains move away and skies will begin to clear.

STILL WARM INTO MARCH:
March comes in like a lamb Thursday with lots of sunshine and temps still well above seasonal averages. However, another strong frontal system arrives Friday afternoon with showers and thunderstorms likely. There is once again potential for strong to severe storms with this system before it moves out Friday night.

THE WEEKEND:
Home Expo weekend will be pretty quiet overall with temps closer to average for early March. We will be selling and programming NOAA Weather Radios with Kroger this Saturday from 10am to 2pm at the Home Expo. There’s just a slight chance for a few showers Sunday. Some moderation in readings is expected by Tuesday.

Precip Chance 70% – Rain Amount .50″

TONIGHT:
Gradual Clearing…Low 43, winds W-5

THURSDAY:
