Like April Should Be

April 17, 2012

Join the First Alert Storm Team at the Kroger on the 31W Bypass (across from The Medical Center) in Bowling Green this Saturday from 10am to Noon for the next Spring NOAA Weather Radio Event!

NOWCAST:
Mainly cloudy this morning with a few sprinkles and light rain showers in the Barren River Lake, Lake Cumberland and Dale Hollow Lake regions.

DRIER AND COOLER:
Some low clouds will hang around mixing with the sun today as an axis of moisture lingers. There will remain a slight chance for a sprinkle or light rain shower along the Cumberland Plateau to the southeast of the Bowling Green area. Highs today will be quite seasonable in the upper 60s – possibly closer to 70° where there is a little more sun to the west. Otherwise, we’re looking at some quiet weather the next few days with mainly sunny skies and highs in the 70s.

STORMS FRIDAY, THEN ANOTHER COOLDOWN:
We still could use some rain but it looks like we’ll have to wait until Friday for the next decent shot at showers and thunderstorms. Some storms Friday afternoon and evening could be strong – something we’ll monitor in the days ahead. After a warm finish to the work week, look for temperatures to take another tumble, back into the low 60s for highs Saturday through Monday. A few showers could linger into Saturday before the weekend ends on a dry note.

TODAY:
Mainly Cloudy, Ch. Light Rain SE…High 68, winds NE-7

TONIGHT:
Partly Cloudy and Mild…Low 47, winds Calm

WEDNESDAY:
Sunny and Pleasant…High 74, winds SE-4
