NOWCAST:
Mainly clear this morning with a few high clouds and temperatures starting in the warm and muggy 70s.
MORE HEAT ON THE WAY:
Summer began Wednesday under more hot sunshine allowing temperatures to easily crack 90° for the third day in a row. Today looks like another scorcher with mid 90s expected under mostly sunny skies along with rather humid conditions. There is an outside chance for an afternoon thundershower near Lake Cumberland but most of the area stays dry. A cold front dives southeastward out of the Midwest tonight into Friday morning giving us just a small chance for a few widely scattered thunderstorms. Readings drop off a bit but stay very warm Friday, with highs around 90°.
FIRST WEEKEND OF SUMMER:
Expect more hot temperatures under partly to mostly sunny skies Saturday into Sunday. Highs top out in the low 90s each day, with warm lows around 70° Saturday night. Any chance for rain appears very nill through the weekend.
COOLER AIR COMING:
Another cold front is slated to move through Monday. Like the system moving through early Friday, this one also looks moisture-starved with only a slight chance for a few thunderstorms Monday. Behind this front, readings drop back into the 80s for highs Tuesday into Wednesday, with more comfortable morning lows in the lower 60s.
