Extreme Heat, High Fire Danger Today
RED FLAG WARNING for high fire danger today. HEAT ADVISORY in effect today for high heat values of 100-105 degrees.
NOWCAST:
Mainly clear this morning with temperatures starting in the 60s.
HIGH HEAT AND FIRE DANGER:
The much advertised heat wave begins as high pressure looms large over the southeast. The heat really cranks up as afternoon highs soar into the triple digits. It will also be very windy at times increasing the danger of wildfire in the area. For Friday, we’ll see more of the same with plenty of sun, breezy winds, low humidity, and triple digit temperatures.
THE HEAT HANGS AROUND:
Through the weekend, hot weather will remain with highs during the weekend in the upper 90s if not at 100°. Saturday afternoon there is a *slight* chance of a pop up shower, but most places will remain dry. There is also another small shower chance Wednesday afternoon, but once again, most places will miss out on any rain at all.
