Staying Cooler and Unsettled

July 10, 2012

NOWCAST:
Showers with a few thunderstorms and some heavy rainfall will continue this morning in Southern Kentucky close to the Tennessee border where a stationary front is parked.

MORE CHANCES FOR RAIN!
The frontal system that put an end to a week and half of extreme heat along with bringing much-needed rain back to the area has stalled along the Tennessee border. This means a continued chance for showers and thunderstorms will be part of the forecast for the next several days. Some storms will bring locally heavy rainfall along with gusty winds and frequent lightning. Highs will top out in the upper 80s through Wednesday with overnight lows in the upper 60s to near 70°.

UNSETTLED LATE WEEK/WEEKEND:
We’ll remain in a moist and unstable air mass late in the period, providing us with more chances for scattered showers and thunderstorms. Highs will range from the mid 80s to near 90° with muggy lows around 70°.
