NOWCAST:
Mainly clear this morning with temperatures starting in the upper 20s and low 30s.

VALENTINE’S DAY:
Cupid warms hearts, but it’s Mother Nature who will warm our temps today! Look for partly to mostly sunny skies and a breezy southwest wind to bring back much warmer afternoon readings. Most of us should warm into the mid to upper 50s this afternoon. This evening also looks dry if you plan to head out for dinner with your sweetheart with lows dropping into the 30s.

COLD FOR THE WEEKEND:
Old Man Winter reasserts himself Friday through the weekend. We’ll see one cold front pass through Friday with little more than some increase in clouds and a slight chance for a rain or snow shower. Temperatures will be the bigger story, with highs dropping into the 40s Friday before the mother lode of some very cold air arrives Saturday. We probably won’t warm out of the 30s Saturday afternoon with stiff northwest winds making it feel like the 20s during the day. Readings moderate a tad for Sunday. The weekend appears dry at this time.

MORE RAIN NEXT WEEK:
Presidents’ Day brings warmer temperatures back to the region, but rain looks likely Monday night into much of Tuesday with our next system. That rain could end as a period of light snow late Tuesday as colder air returns by midweek.
