Pockets of heavy rain will continue to move through the region this morning causing some flooding of roadways and area creeks and streams. Temperatures will hold in the upper 60s to low 70s but will rise into the upper 70s after the morning rains and some limited sun returns.
RAINY AT TIMES:
A slow-moving cold front is closing in on Kentucky resulting in higher chances for numerous showers and thunderstorms. No severe storms are expected, but locally heavy rainfall is possible. After a round of heavy rain this morning, breaks of sunshine will trigger scattered showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. We’ll have a continued chance for showers and thunderstorms tonight into Friday as the front slowly pushes through. Highs Friday will reach the upper 70s.
Rain showers diminish Friday night, setting us up for a nice weekend! With mostly sunny skies Saturday, readings will climb back to near 80. The warming continues through Sunday along with fair skies before clouds increase Sunday night ahead of an approaching weather maker. Our next shot for rain should hold off until late Sunday night.
SUMMER-LIKE NEXT WEEK:
We’ll see a return to more humid and very warm conditions next week. While it will be mainly sunny, there will be a daily chance of late afternoon showers and thunderstorms each day.
