The new month picks up where June left off: Cooler than normal and still unsettled. A disturbance rotates into the region today, promoting better chances for more numerous showers and thunderstorms. Locally heavy rainfall is possible through this evening. Highs will once again top out around 80°, almost 10° below average for the first day of July. Lows tonight will drop into the lower 60s with scattered showers possible.
INDEPENDENCE DAY OUTLOOK:
There should be slow warming trend for late week into the holiday weekend. However, chances for at least isolated to scattered thunderstorms will remain a part of the forecast each day. Highs climb from the mid 80s midweek (and for the 4th) to near 90 by early next week.
