The Weekend Still Looks Wet

***FLASH FLOOD WATCH*** in effect from I-65 eastward until 7pm.

Scattered showers with a few moderate to heavy downpours will continue this morning. Otherwise it will be mainly cloudy with temperatures in the 60s rising to 72° by 10am and around 76° by noon.

The next three days look unsettled, with on-and-off showers and thunderstorms a part of the forecast each day. Locally heavy rainfall is possible, with the heaviest rain likely to fall along and east of I-65. Anywhere from 2-4″ of rain could fall between now and Sunday evening, especially east. Plenty of clouds will keep afternoon highs well below average. Highs will only reach the upper 70s today before slowly climbing into the lower 80s by Sunday. Lows will be in the upper 60s.

We should see a return to weather that’s more typical for July next week. Expect more sunshine each day as the weekend system finally heads out. There will be at least slight chances for mainly afternoon and evening pop-up thunderstorms each day. Highs will reach the upper 80s to near 90, with muggy lows in the 70s.
