Stormy, then Unseasonably Less Humid

SLIGHT RISK of severe storms mainly north and west of Bowling Green this afternoon and evening. The main threat will be from the potential for damaging winds, large hail and torrential rains.

Partly cloudy, warm and muggy this morning with a few scattered showers passing through. Temperatures will start in the 70s and rise to near 85° by 10am and around 89° by noon.

We’ll have to contend with heat and humidity one more day before a cold front sweeps through with relief by early Thursday. Out ahead of that front comes a good chance for showers and thunderstorms. A few showers and storms are possible early with more likely late afternoon into the evening. A SLIGHT RISK for severe weather is in place from Bowling Green northwestward. A few storms could contain damaging winds and large hail. Locally heavy downpours are also possible. Highs today should once again reach the lower 90s, although it may feel as hot as 100° late in the day with the heat index.

Canadian high pressure builds in Thursday, bringing northerly winds that will put an end to any lingering rains Thursday morning. Less humid air filters in Thursday afternoon with clearing skies. We may wake up to readings as cool as the upper 50s in outlying sections Friday morning. The nice weather continues into the weekend with a slow warmup. More seasonal heat and humidity returns early next week.
