Another Scorcher Today but Relief Is Coming

A peek into next week shows a big difference in temperature from what we're feeling this week.
A peek into next week shows a big difference in temperature from what we’re feeling this week.

MORNING NOWCAST:
Partly cloudy, warm and muggy this morning with a slight chance of an isolated shower. Temperatures will rise from the 70s to near 87° by 10am and around 91° by noon.

STILL HOT, STILL HUMID:
Wednesday was one of the hottest and most humid days of the year so far. Don’t expect much relief for the remainder of this work week. There will be more small chances for mainly late-day isolated thundershowers today and again Friday. Locally heavy downpours and dangerous lightning would be the main threats with any pop-up storms. Otherwise, expect partly sunny skies both days, with highs in the lower 90s. High humidity will send heat index readings into the lower 100s both afternoons.

STORMS FOR SATURDAY, THEN COOLER:
A cold front dives southward from the Midwest Saturday, providing us with a much better chance for more widespread showers and thunderstorms. Some storms could be strong with locally heavy rainfall late Saturday into Saturday night. Rain becomes more scattered in nature Sunday as the front slowly pushes through. Highs drop from the low 90s into the upper 80s late in the weekend. The front may stall just south of our area, which means small rain chances will continue into early next week along with readings close to seasonal averages.
