SLIGHT RISK for severe storms containing potential for damaging winds and hail mainly west of I-65 today and tonight
Partly cloudy this morning with isolated to widely scattered showers and thunderstorms. A few storms could produce heavy downpours and frequent lightning. Temperatures will start in the 70s and warm to near 84° at 10am and around 86° by noon.
STRONG STORMS POSSIBLE:
We’ve had a break in the heat thanks mainly to clouds and rain these past two days, but it will be warm and humid one more day. Expect a mix of sun and clouds along with scattered thunderstorms along and ahead of this system. A few storms could be strong to severe, with hail and gusty winds possible (a SLIGHT RISK for severe weather is up for areas west of I-65). Showers and thunderstorms will begin to taper off late tonight.
After nearly two weeks with high humidity, a reprieve is on the way! The cold front heading through tonight sends in cooler, drier air for Wednesday. Highs drop into the lower 80s for midweek, with humidity levels falling off by Wednesday evening. This will make for more comfortable sleeping weather Wednesday night, with lows down into the lower 60s. Pleasant weather continues with lots of sunshine Thursday and Friday.
A fast-moving disturbance may bring us showers and thunderstorms Saturday. Otherwise, it appears temperatures will remain a bit below average for both highs and lows into early next week.
