Partly cloudy, warm and muggy this morning with scattered showers and thunderstorms – some containing heavy downpours.
RAIN CHANCES GO UP:
After a fairly quite overnight period, rain chances rise today with more numerous showers and thunderstorms expected through Tuesday. Temperatures will be in the low to mid 80s with overnight lows in the low 70s. Rain amounts will generally be between .25″ and .50″ but some locations may pick up well over an inch of rain from stronger storms. The passage of a secondary front will bring an end to the rainy weather by Tuesday night.
CAN THIS BE AUGUST?
What is typically one of the warmest months of the year for Southern Kentucky will actually be well below average in the coming days as cooler, less humid air moves southward on Wednesday. As sunshine returns, daytime highs will struggle to reach 80° in some spots and will remain quite comfortable through the upcoming weekend.
THE UPCOMING WEEKEND:
More rain chances return Friday through Sunday but temperatures will continue to run abnormally cool in the upper 70s to low 80s.
