Precipitation forecast through the Labor Day holiday weekend shows some chances for scattered rain showers but not a lot of measurable rain.

MORNING NOWCAST:
Mainly clear to partly cloudy this morning with a few areas of patchy dense fog.

DOES THE STREAK END?:
We’ve now gone 38 days without hitting 90° in Bowling Green but that streak appears to be in jeopardy. The heat that’s been building over the Plains and Midwest will spread eastward into our region into Thursday. Highs should climb close to 90° both days but high humidity will make it feel as hot as the mid to upper 90s. A backdoor cold front sliding in from the northeast may trigger a stray shower or thundershower this evening and again on Thursday but many areas will remain dry. Overnight lows will be in the lower 70s.

HOLIDAY WEEKEND:
Heat and humidity will be the story as the weekend begins. With fair to partly cloudy skies, highs should reach the lower 90s Saturday and Sunday. A few places may be cooled off by an isolated shower or thunderstorm, however. The best chances for rain will come during the afternoon to early evening hours. A cold front is expected to move through on Labor Day, giving us a slightly better shot at rain along with a cooldown for early next week.
