COOL IS THE RULE:
A cold front has eased through South-Central KY with Wednesday afternoon’s readings running some 10-15 degrees cooler than Tuesday’s. It will stay on the cool side through the rest of this work week. Clouds hang around most of today along with some scattered showers. Rain ends from west to east this afternoon with clearing skies in the evening. This sets us up for a chilly Friday morning, with lows ranging from the upper 30s to lower 40s. It warms up a bit Friday thanks to more sunshine, with highs reaching the upper 60s.
10K CLASSIC WEEKEND:
Expect mostly cloudy and cool conditions for the annual running of the Medical Center 10K Classic Saturday morning. There could be a few showers over mainly northwestern sections as a weak cold front delivers a reinforcing shot of cooler air. Highs stay in the 60s with chilly lows in the lower 40s.
STILL COOL NEXT WEEK:
We’ll catch a small warmup Monday before another reinforcing shot of chilly air arrives Tuesday. We could be looking at frost potential by midweek, with lows forecast to fall in the 30s.
