We touched 70 in Bowling Green for a high Monday, but we will not be that warm again for a long time! The first in a series of systems – a cold front – brought numerous showers this morning. Rain quickly moves out with some sun returning for the afternoon. It will be cooler, though with daytime readings about 10 degrees cooler than Monday. Tonight will be chilly with some passing clouds.
Another shot of colder air – along with another chance of light rain – arrives with a weak disturbance Wednesday morning. It will be unseasonably cooler with readings struggling just to get into the 50s!
FIRST AUTUMN FREEZE LIKELY:
Another in a series of disturbances moves through early Thursday with just a slight chance for a shower. This system will serve to reinforce the chilly air which will dominate into the weekend. Daytime highs will only reach the 50s through Sunday, but overnight lows will be the big story. Our first freezing temperatures of the season are likely Friday morning, with lows ranging from the upper 20s to lower 30s. Similar readings are expected Saturday morning, with widespread frost possible. At this time, it looks dry but cool for WKU’s Homecoming Saturday. A slight warmup is expected Monday.
