A few clouds early giving way to sunshine with chilly breezes.
8am: Mostly Cloudy 42°
10am: Mostly Sunny 44°
12 Noon: Sunny 48°

Cooler air took over today even as sunshine returned to the area. Our weather pattern remains active through midweek, however. Another in a series of disturbances passed through overnight bringing a little light rain to parts of the region. As skies clear today, it will be unseasonably cool for late October with highs only reaching the lower 50s. Yet another disturbance arrives Thursday morning. There is a chance for little light rain with this system (which could even mix with a few wet snow flakes to the north and east), but any precip will be very light and gone by Thursday afternoon.

It appears likely South-Central KY will experience its first freezing temperatures of the season Friday morning, with another freeze to follow Saturday morning. Lows Friday will range from the upper 20s to lower 30s with some areas of frost. Saturday morning could be even colder! That’s when clear skies and lighter winds will allow for many locales to dip into the mid to upper 20s, cold enough for a hard freeze. After a nippy Friday, some moderation is in store for WKU Homecoming weekend. Highs rebound to near 60 Saturday. More warming is expected early next week.
