ARCTIC BLAST (AND A BIT OF SNOW?):
Today will be the last “warm” day for a while as high pressure moves away. Expect an increase in clouds as highs reach into the mid 60s. Much colder air arrives early Tuesday with an arctic front sweeping through. With it comes a chance for rain showers that may even mix with or change to a period of light snow before ending Tuesday morning. Any snow amounts will be very minor, and SCKY will likely see a dusting in grassy areas. Winds will be very breezy, with wind gusts between 20-30mph possible. The drop in temperature will be the bigger weather story. Readings Tuesday and Wednesday are only forecast to top out in the lower 40s, almost 20 degrees below average for this time of year! Overnight lows will be very cold, with some places possibly dropping into the lower 20s Wednesday morning and again Thursday morning!
THE WEEKEND AHEAD:
Southerly winds will return long enough to warm us back into the 50s and 60s for the weekend but we’ll see rain chances Saturday night and Sunday followed by more arctic air next week!
