2014 Starts Calm but Snow Chances on the way

MORNING NOWCAST:
8am: Mainly Clear 31°
10am: Mainly Sunny 38°
12 Noon: Mainly Sunny 46°

NEW YEAR’S DAY/REST OF WEEK:
The new year starts out a little warmer but another Arctic blast will arrive by Thursday. New Year’s Day will feature mostly sunny conditions and temperatures pushing 50. Our next weather maker looks to arrive very late tonight into early Thursday. This one could bring us a round of light rain or snow going over to all light snow Thursday. At this time, it appears around 1″ of snow is possible for Bowling Green, with slightly higher amounts possible to the north and east. Temperatures will fall from the 30s into the 20s Thursday, with daytime wind chills as low as the single digits and lower teens! Friday is dry but very cold, with highs only in the upper 20s.

THE FIRST WEEKEND OF 2014:
There will be some moderation in temperatures moving into the weekend. While Saturday appears dry, Sunday holds a chance for rain and/or snow, with light snow possible Sunday night into Monday morning. More cold, arctic air – possibly the coldest in nearly three years – arrives early next week!
