MORE SEASONAL AIR RETURNS:
We will transition to a pattern featuring more seasonable temperatures as we head into the weekend. Today will be mainly sunny and dry before clouds thicken ahead of an approaching frontal system. Patchy light rain is possible Friday with better rain chances Friday night into much of Saturday. It’s possible that rain could end as a light wintry mix before ending Sunday morning. Highs climb from the lower 40s late week to the low 50s Saturday. A small cooldown is expected Sunday with the weekend ending dry.
EARLY NEXT WEEK:
The pattern stays active with rain returning late Monday night into Tuesday. Highs stay in the 40s with lows in the 30s. Long range forecast models signal a possible winter storm system may affect our region Tuesday into Wednesday. Depending on the ultimate track, timing and temperature of this system, Southern Kentucky could see a variety of precipitation.
