EARLY MORNING NOWCAST:
Variable clouds. Not as cold.
6am: Mostly Cloudy 29°
8am: Mostly Cloudy 31°
10am: Mostly Cloudy 38°
Temperatures warmed well above the freezing mark for the first time in several days Thursday! We’ll be even warmer today despite more clouds. There’s a slight chance for some patchy sprinkles late in the day. Highs should reach the mid 40s – seasonable for the last day of January. Lows tonight will only drop into the low 40s with clouds and a southwest wind.
The warmup continues into Saturday before a cold front marches through Saturday night. This brings us a good shot for rain, which could end as a brief, light wintry mix Sunday morning as moisture moves out. Highs Saturday could flirt with 60 degrees before much colder air returns Sunday morning. Another weak disturbance could move into the region late Sunday night with a light snow chance.
ACTIVE NEXT WEEK:
Another weather maker – one that looks quite potent – is forecast to move in late Monday night into Tuesday. At this time, this looks to bring mainly rain to South-Central KY, and potentially heavy rain, at that. Rain could end as a light mix or light snow Wednesday. Highs will range from the upper 30s to low 40s Monday into Tuesday before colder air returns Wednesday into Thursday.
