CUPID BRINGS RAIN AND SOME SNOW:
A Clipper-type system swings through the Ohio Valley for Valentine’s Day. With temperatures warming into the upper 30s to lower 40s, mainly rain is expected. The rain will develop around midday and increase in coverage during the afternoon. Over the far northern sections of the viewing area (near Rough River Lake northward), some wet snow may mix with the rain tomorrow afternoon. Most places will see a changeover to light snow before the moisture moves out Friday evening. Any snow accumulation will be minor. Most will receive just a dusting, although 1-2″ is possible in the far north/east counties. Some slick spots are possible tonight as readings tumble into the 20s.

THE WEEKEND:
We’ll be dry but chilly Saturday with highs in the upper 30s. A weak disturbance glides by to our northeast Saturday night, with a few flurries possible into Sunday morning. Otherwise, expect some sun to return Sunday afternoon, with highs in the mid to upper 40s.

BIG WARMING NEXT WEEK:
Although it will be unsettled at times, much warmer temperatures are expected Monday through Thursday! Highs should reach the 50s Monday and Tuesday, with a good shot at rain Monday night into Tuesday morning. Readings soar into the 60s Wednesday with an outside shot at hitting 70° Thursday! There will be a chance for showers and possibly even thunderstorms to close out the period, however.
