After our warmest and arguably nicest day of the year Tuesday, Old Man Winter is poised to reassert himself another time. Showers and a few thunderstorms are likely today. A few thunderstorms may produce strong winds or even small hail, but severe storms are not expected. Winds will be quite gusty, turning around to the northwest at 20-30mph with occasional gusts of 35-45mph! These winds will send temperatures tumbling rapidly from early morning highs around 65 into the 30s by afternoon! Any remaining showers could mix with or change to wet snow as the colder air dives into the region. No snow accumulation is expected, though. Winds die down some tonight as the storm system moves away, but it will be much colder. Lows tonight plunge into the lower 20s with wind chills as low as 5 to 10 above! Thursday looks dry but chilly with highs only in the low 40s.

After a chilly Thursday, readings rebound to near seasonal levels Friday into the weekend. A weak weather maker gives us a small shot at rain Saturday over the weekend into Monday. We’ll warm back into the lower 60s to close out the week with cooler air returning early next week.
