WIND ADVISORY until 2pm today with wind gusts around 40mph
FREEZE WATCH late Tuesday/early Wednesday as temperatures fall into the mid and upper 20s
NOWCAST THROUGH LATE MORNING:
Mostly cloudy, breezy with periods of rain and thunder.
6am: Rain 64°
8am: Rain 63°
10am: Rain 65°
Moisture ahead of a strong cold front is setting off periods of rain and a few thunderstorms this morning. Many locations look to pick up around a half-inch or more of rain today. In addition, winds will be gusty to 40mph, especially near stronger thunderstorms. Highs will start near 70° this morning but hang around the 60s for awhile until the front moves through and drops us into the upper 30s tonight!
The rainy, windy weather will gradually move away early Tuesday. Skies will clear but a stiff north wind behind the cold front will keep temperatures from hitting 50° Tuesday afternoon. As the wind settles, skies clear and high pressure moves overhead, we’re likely to see a widespread hard freeze across Southern Kentucky Tuesday night into early Wednesday morning. Overnight lows will drop into the mid and upper 20s!
Sunshine returns Wednesday as temperatures recover to near 60° with readings into the mid and upper 60s for the end of the work week and into the holiday weekend. There will be a chance for more showers and thunderstorms Good Friday but much of the Easter weekend will be rain-free with highs in the upper 60s which is close to average.
