NOWCAST THROUGH LATE MORNING:
A fair sky with increasing clouds toward midday.
6am: Fair 44°
8am: Fair 51°
10am: Fair 63°
WARMING UP WITH SOME RAIN:
After a cooler Wednesday, breezy south winds will warm us up today. Highs should climb into the upper 70s to near 80 – around 10 degrees warmer than Wednesday. Clouds will increase as a swift-moving cold front approaches. Showers and thunderstorms are likely late tonight into the predawn hours of Friday. While no severe storms are expected, a few storms may contain gusty winds, lightning and small hail. Lows tonight will be mild, only falling into the upper 50s.
Friday looks nice, with skies becoming mostly sunny and temperatures still a bit above normal. We’ll see highs in the mid 70s to close out the work week.
Warm weather continues into Saturday and Sunday. Saturday looks to bring us lots of sunshine, and while most of Sunday appears dry, chances for showers and thunderstorms arrive Sunday night as a system over the Plains draws closer. We’ll have highs in the upper 70s to near 80 both weekend days.
UNSETTLED NEXT WEEK:
Looks like April closes out on a stormy note. Showers and thunderstorms are likely Monday into Tuesday, with chances for rain persisting into Wednesday. Some storms Monday could be strong, with potential for heavy rain and minor flooding also present early next week. The week should begin with seasonably warm temperatures before much cooler air arrives toward the end of the period.
