NOWCAST THROUGH LATE MORNING:
Cloudy with a chance of showers.
6am: Scattered Showers 71°
8am: Showers, Thunderstorms 71°
10am: Showers, Thunderstorms 73°
After many straight days filled with sunshine and unseasonably warm temperatures, we are about to see a change in our weather pattern. An approaching system will bring showers and thunderstorms back to the region today. A few strong storms with gusty winds and hail cannot be ruled out – especially west of Bowling Green – but organized severe weather is not expected. A few storms could contain locally heavy rainfall. Highs will be cooler thanks to more clouds topping out in the upper 70s. Lows fall into the lower 60s tonight as rain chances continue.
MOTHER’S DAY WEEKEND:
Today’s system washes out over the region Saturday keeping the possibility for spotty showers and storms in the forecast. The weekend will NOT be a washout, however. Otherwise, expect a mix of sun and clouds both Saturday and Mother’s Day (Sunday). Highs warm back into the low to mid 80s, with rather humid conditions both days.
Rain chances ramp back up Monday and Tuesday as another front moves in. Showers may linger into Wednesday before we finally dry out. Highs drop from the 80s Monday into the low 70s Wednesday. We may not even make it out of the 60s for afternoon readings Thursday as cooler air dives in late in the going.
