A SCORCHER TUESDAY:
We were back into the 90s Monday afternoon and the heat rolls on into Tuesday. Along with very high temperatures (low to mid 90s) will come lots of humidity sending heat indices into the triple digits for many this afternoon. With a cold front on the approach from the northwest late day, there will be a chance for scattered afternoon thunderstorms. Storms could be quite strong IF they develop, with a few possibly severe (large hail, locally damaging winds possible). Scattered storms remain possible this evening with lows still warm and muggy in the low 70s.
A cold front sweeps through the region Wednesday bringing a big change to our weather pattern. There remains a slight chance for a shower or storm through Wednesday afternoon before dry weather prevails Thursday. Highs Wednesday drop into the upper 80s, with less humid air spreading into the region by Wednesday evening into Thursday.
Independence Day looks GORGEOUS! Expect lots of sunshine with highs in the mid 80s and comfortable humidity levels. The remainder of the holiday weekend also looks great, with temperatures slowly moderating Saturday into Sunday.
