After two consecutive days of record cool July temps in low 70s, we were closer to seasonable readings Sunday. The heat and humidity builds as we start a new week. Temps will be in the low 90s for the first half of the work week with Tuesday being the warmest as heat index values reach near triple digits. Rain chances look slim other than a pop-up shower/storm with daytime heat and humidity as a ridge of high pressure stretches across region.
A cold front slides in Wednesday bringing a chance of showers and storms. There is a possibility of some strong storms with gusty winds and heavy rainfall. The rain chance could linger to finish out the week on Friday as the front slides south. This will be followed by another big drop in temperatures into the low to mid 80s Thursday and Friday. A few showers are possible for the upcoming weekend with highs in the mid to upper 80s.
