NOWCAST THROUGH LATE MORNING:
Mainly cloudy with chilly wind chills.
6am: Mainly Cloudy 33°
8am: Mainly Cloudy 35°
10am: Partly Cloudy 40°
The much-advertised big chill has arrived! After some morning clouds, sunshine returns later today but afternoon readings will be almost 20 degrees colder than Tuesday’s. The mother lode of the cold, arctic air won’t even arrive until Thursday. That’s when daytime highs may not even get out of the 30s for most! Overnight lows will also be quite cold, plunging into the low 20s by Thursday night. At least mid to late week looks dry, although unseasonably cold temperatures stick around through Friday.
THE CHILL LINGERS:
Don’t look for a major warmup through early next week! Readings stay well below average through Monday. A weak weathermaker cuts across the Deep South late Saturday, sending some moisture northward. We could see a mix of light rain and light snow with this system into Sunday, although at this time, any snow accumulation looks minor. Monday and Tuesday look dry but cold.
