NOWCAST THROUGH LATE MORNING:
Mainly cloudy and cold with a few flurries possible.
6am: Mainly Cloudy 29°
8am: Partly Cloudy 30°
10am: Partly Cloudy 34°
DRY BUT COLD:
Stubborn, low clouds and northerly winds made it look and feel more like January than November Wednesday! A few snow flurries are possible near the Land Between the Lakes and along the Tennessee border this morning but no accumulation or travel impacts are expected.
We should gradually see some sunshine return today but our temperatures will remain nearly 25 degrees below normal…only reaching the upper 30s. Similar readings are in store for Friday, although we’ll have plenty of sunshine to finish out the week.
WEEKEND WEATHER MAKERS:
The chill lingers through the weekend, which will make for a tricky forecast with a pair of systems expected to affect our area. The first one is a weak front passing through late Saturday night. This could bring us a quick round of very light rain or snow flurries early Sunday morning. Then, a more potent system passing through the Deep South late Sunday will send moisture northward into our area. Depending on the temperature, we could see rain or a mixed bag of precip changing over to snow sometime Sunday night into Monday morning. Some snow accumulation is possible, although that is highly dependent on the future track of this system. The same can be said for potential travel impacts Sunday night into Monday morning. Stay connected to WBKO and wbko.com as we monitor the wintry weather potential for the weekend.
STILL COLD INTO NEXT WEEK:
Temperatures will remain unseasonably cold through next Wednesday! Highs will only top out in the 30s Monday and Tuesday before a bit of moderation happens Wednesday.
