NOWCAST THROUGH LATE MORNING:
Rain changing to snow for the morning commute.
6am: Snow 33°
8am: Snow 32°
10am: Partly Cloudy 32°
*WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR MUCH OF THE WBKO VIEWING AREA UNTIL 11AM…HAZARDOUS DRIVING CONDITIONS POSSIBLE DURING RUSH HOUR MORNING COMMUTE*
The transition from rain to snow is happening this morning. Expect a slushy, wet snow that will have some impact on the morning commute. Snow amounts will depend greatly on temperature and the amount of remaining moisture with this system. Road and ground temperatures are still relatively warm so amounts will differ across the area. We will see some breaks of sun late in the day.
Following the snow will come record-breaking cold! Readings today will remain in the 30s…likely not getting out of the 20s to make for a record cold day Tuesday! Brace yourself for below zero and single digit wind chills through midweek. Overnight lows will plunge into the teens tonight and Tuesday night.
A BIT WARMER:
We’ll finally see warmer readings return late next week, although still below average with daytime temps in the 40s. It looks dry through Thursday before a shower chance arrives Friday and carries over into the upcoming weekend.
