QUICK SHOT OF COLD:
After a fairly mild and tranquil start to our week, we’re about to experience the return of a more winter-like feel to our weather. A weak cold front swings through bringing us clouds along with a chance for some sprinkles or flurries late. The chance for sprinkles/flurries will continue for mainly eastern sections today. A noticeable drop in temperature will be the biggest change for us. Daytime readings will struggle just to make 40 degrees, a little over 10 degrees below normal! Blustery northwest winds will add to the chill.
Clouds linger through much of Wednesday as an area of low pressure – cut off from the upper flow – sits over the eastern US and keeps us rather chilly. As the system departs on Thursday, we will finally see a return to more sunshine, but highs will remain below average in the mid to upper 40s and lows will dip into the mid 20s to low 30s.
LATE WEEK WARMING:
Quiet weather continues into the upcoming weekend. Expect a slow but steady warming trend as a more southerly wind flow takes over. Highs climb into the low to mid 50s by the weekend, with overnight lows moderating from the 20s into the 30s.
