NOWCAST THROUGH LATE MORNING:
Cloudy and mild with a few areas of patchy fog.
5am: 41° 6am: 40° 7am: 39° 8am: 40° 9am: 43° 10am: 47° 11am: 51°

UNSETTLED WEATHER AHEAD:
Clouds from the weekend hold over today as our next storm system approaches. Showers will overspread South-Central KY this afternoon and tonight. Some may even hear a clap of thunder but no strong storms are expected. Rainfall amounts will be relatively light, generally a quarter inch or less. A few showers could linger into Tuesday morning, otherwise the rest of the day looks mainly cloudy. Highs today will remain mild in the mid 50s with overnight lows only dropping into the lower 40s tonight. We’ll be slightly cooler Tuesday although highs will remain a bit above seasonal averages around 50.

WINTRY WEATHER LATE WEEK:
Wednesday and Thursday look quiet. While temperatures look cooler for midweek, we should see more sunshine before our next system arrives Friday into Saturday. Much is unknown with regard to the track of this one, but rain is likely to develop late Friday, possibly becoming mixed with or even changing to snow early Saturday. The amount of cold air involved with the system – along with its track – will have considerable bearing on precipitation type and potential impacts toward the end of this week. Highs will range from the upper 30s to lower 40s late in the period.
