Rain? Snow? Which Will It Be?

Dec17blog

NOWCAST THROUGH LATE MORNING:
Cloudy, breezy and chilly.
5am: 34° 6am: 34° 7am: 33° 8am: 33° 9am: 34° 10am: 36° 11am: 37°

#1 SYSTEM TO WATCH:
Today will be chilly with highs struggling to hit 40° after a cloudy start with some partial sunshine later. Another weak disturbance may bring a slight chance for a wintry mix of rain/sleet/snow early Thursday morning. This should be a low-impact situation with little to no accumulation expected. However, a few icy spots are possible during the morning drive on Thursday.

#2 SYSTEM TO WATCH:
A more potent system moves in late Friday into Saturday. Much is unknown with regard to the track of this one but rain is likely to develop late Friday, possibly becoming mixed with or even changing to snow early Saturday. The amount of cold air involved with the system – along with its track – will have considerable bearing on precipitation type and potential impacts toward the end of this week. Highs will range from the upper 30s to lower 40s late in the period which would keep the majority of the precipitation in the form of rain.
