Light Wintry Mix

Dec18capture1

NOWCAST THROUGH LATE MORNING:
A wintry mix of rain, sleet and snow at times.
5am: 33° 6am: 34° 7am: 34° 8am: 34° 9am: 34° 10am: 35° 11am: 36°

#1 SYSTEM TO WATCH:
A weak disturbance has brought us a quick round of wintry precipitation – a mix of rain/sleet/snow – this morning. This should be a low-impact situation with little to no accumulation expected. However, a few icy spots are possible mainly on bridges and overpasses during the morning drive.

#2 SYSTEM TO WATCH:
Our next weather maker arrives late Friday night into Saturday in the form of a low pressure system tracking across the Deep South. With temperatures close to the freezing mark Saturday morning, a mix of rain and wet snow is likely across South-Central KY. At this time, any snow accumulation appears minor and would likely be confined to grassy surfaces. We’ll dry out Saturday night into Sunday, the final day of Autumn. Temperatures will top out in the low to mid 40s both weekend days with lows in the upper 20s Saturday night.

#3 SYSTEM TO WATCH:
Next week starts quiet before another system arrives Tuesday into Christmas Eve (Wednesday). This one could bring strong winds and rain showers perhaps going over to snow showers Wednesday.
