WINDY, WET & WARM:
A storm system moves into the region which will bring us lots of rain, gusty winds and even a few thunderstorms. We will start mainly dry today with a few isolated showers late this afternoon. Highs will reach into the milder mid and upper 50s. Another surge of moisture moves in tonight and during the day Tuesday. Some locations could see 1-2″ of rain between now and early Wednesday morning.
We look to establish and early high in the upper 40s on Christmas Eve morning as a cold front passes through. As temperatures fall through the day into the lower 40s and then into the mid 30s, we could see a changeover to snow showers Wednesday evening. While the ground and roads will be too warm for any accumulating snow, the wind and snow may cause low visibility during any snow showers that occur. A few slick spots may develop Wednesday night into early Thursday morning.
Early morning clouds and flurries will give way to a mostly sunny day with highs in the mid 40s which would melt any traces of snow leftover from Christmas Eve.
FINAL WEEKEND OF 2014:
More warm air is expected Friday with highs in the 50s before another shot of cold air moves in for Saturday and Sunday. A slight chance of a rain shower is possible early Saturday morning.
