Showers are now breaking out across our region as a storm system moves in. This system will bring us lots of rain, gusty winds and possibly even a few thunderstorms through Wednesday. Most of us will pick up anywhere from 1-2″ of rain between now and Wednesday afternoon. Today will be unseasonably warm thanks to breezy south winds. Highs will jump into the lower 60s. Readings stay mild tonight before a cold front arrives Wednesday morning.

The day before Christmas will be WINDY! We look to establish and early high in the upper 50s on Christmas Eve morning before our cold front passes through. Wind gusts of 30-40 mph may accompany the front’s passage. As temperatures fall into the mid 30s Wednesday night, we could see a changeover to a few light snow showers or flurries Wednesday evening. While accumulating snow is not expected, the wind and snow may cause low visibility for a brief period during any flurries that occur. Roads look to stay mainly wet through Wednesday night.

Early morning clouds will give way to a mostly sunny day with highs in the upper 40s, a few notches above normal.

More warm air is expected Friday with highs in the 50s before another shot of cooler air moves in for Saturday and Sunday. A chance for rain perhaps ending as some flurries is possible Saturday night into Sunday morning.
