A TAD WARMER TODAY:
One shot of cold, arctic air moved into Southern Kentucky Monday with temperatures struggling just to reach 30° despite lots of sunshine. We warm up a bit today thanks to a more southerly wind flow. Highs will climb to around 40°, some 10° warmer than Monday with a mix of sun and clouds expected. Tonight, an arctic front dives southeastward. A few flurries are possible toward daybreak Wednesday with winds becoming northerly.

EXTREME COLD AHEAD:
The coldest air yet this season arrives Wednesday morning along with gusty north winds! Wind chill values will be in the single digits Wednesday morning with a few snow flurries possible. Wednesday will be bitterly cold, with daytime readings falling from the mid 20s into the teens despite partly sunny skies. Bitter north winds of 15-25mph and temperatures dropping into the single digits Wednesday night will create wind chill readings of -5° to -15° (below zero)! This will be a dangerous time for anyone to be outdoors so use extreme caution, dress in layers and check on pets and the elderly to make sure they have adequate sources of heat.

SOME MODERATION:
Temperatures will gradually warm into the 30s and 40s for the upcoming weekend but there will also be a slight chance of a rain or snow showers Sunday. The chance for rain or snow continues into Monday.
