TRAVELERS ADVISORY for Bowling Green and most of South-Central KY until 9am

NOWCAST THROUGH LATE MORNING:
Cloudy with snow showers and freezing drizzle.
5am: 31° 6am: 31° 7am: 31° 8am: 32° 9am: 33° 10am: 34° 11am: 36°

SLUSHY START:
As another in a series of “clipper” systems exits the region today, we wake to a wet, slushy snow. While most main roads will be mainly wet, untreated and protected backroads will be slick and hazardous. A few leftover snow showers and some freezing drizzle is still possible east of I-65. Highs today will only reach into the mid to upper 30s. Skies will clear tonight with lows in the low 20s which will cause more icy spots to develop.

FINAL DAYS OF JANUARY:
Sunshine returns for Wednesday with highs in the mid 40s just ahead of another “clipper” that moves in late Wednesday. This one will bring a good chance for rain to our area. Temperatures will reach into the low 50s Thursday before falling back into the low to mid 40s for the start of the weekend.

FEBRUARY STARTS COLD!
Several shots of Arctic air arrive just as February gets underway. The first shot gives us a chance of rain changing to snow Sunday followed by a reinforcing shot of polar air for Monday which will only allow highs to reach a few degrees above freezing!
