A CLOUDY, DRIZZLY START:
A weak cold front is passing through the region this morning bringing only a few sprinkles and a wind shift to the northwest. While early morning temperatures have started in the mid 50s (56° will be our official maximum temperature for the day), reading are on their way downward from here. We will establish an “afternoon” high somewhere in the mid to upper 40s. As skies gradually clear tonight, lows will be much colder in the mid 20s.
THE COMING COLD:
It will be a relatively quiet week of weather ahead with the bigger story being cold air will make a comeback. Highs will reach into the mid 40s Tuesday and mid 50s Wednesday before an Arctic front brings much colder air to the region on Thursday. Highs will be 10-15° below average through Valentine’s Day weekend, mainly in the 30s. Lows will be quite cold in the teens and 20s!
