WINTER STORM WARNING in effect through 6am Saturday.

NOWCAST THROUGH LATE MORNING:
Increasing clouds. Bitter cold.
5am: -1° 6am: 0° 7am: 0° 8am: 5° 9am: 8° 10am: 12° 11am: 18°

ANOTHER WINTER STORM:
One more night of subzero cold will be followed by some warming into Saturday. Unfortunately, that warming will come with MESSY weather from our next storm system. It begins this afternoon with a period of snow before switching to a wintry mix late this evening. Snow amounts of less than an inch are possible before the changeover. A period of sleet and freezing rain is likely tonight into the wee hours of Saturday morning before the temperature finally climbs above 32°. Ice accumulations of .10″ to .25″ are possible before everything goes over to plain rain from south to north Saturday morning. This may not only cause icy travel but could weigh on trees and power lines.

WET WEEKEND:
Rain from our system continues through Saturday, and it could be heavy at times. Total rainfall amounts of 2-3″ are likely before the rain tapers off Sunday morning. We could see that rain end as a little light snow Sunday morning with colder air moving back in. Also, some refreezing of moisture from Saturday’s rains is possible Sunday as readings fall into the 20s. We’ll wrap up the weekend on a very cold note, with temps tumbling back into the teens Sunday night.

MORE COLD NEXT WEEK:
Another shot of arctic air means more well below normal temperatures Monday through Wednesday. A chance for light snow is in the forecast Tuesday. Highs will be mainly in the 30s to start the week before plunging into the 20s Wednesday. Lows will be mainly in the teens.
